PVR Pictures brings ‘Taking Woodstock’ to India with much fan fare

VR Pictures, is proud to release the world’sfirst ever full length feature film based on The Woodstock Music Festival of1969 – ‘Taking Woodstock’ directed by Academy Award-winning director AngLee, in India on October 9th. The movie, as the name suggests, isinspired by one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular musichistory that gave birth to one of the largest music revolutions of all times inthe world.

As a tribute to the festival in its 40thanniversary and to celebrate the release of the movie in India, PVRPictures will be hosting a special premiere of the movie on October 7that INOX in Goa. Celebrity musiciansincluding Luke Kenny, Uday Benegal, Ranjit Barot, Anuradha Pal will be apart of this Woodstock celebration in Goa, along with Brian Tellis (Chairmanof Fountainhead Events) who has visited the Woodstock Festival and DJ BlackJack who recently had an opportunity to meet Artie Kornfeld, one of thefounding organizers of the legendary Woodstock Music & Art Fair held atBethel in New York in 1969. Kingfisher Airlines and Taj Hotels have extendedtheir support by coming on board with INOX to host this ‘exclusively themedpremiere’ in Goa.

The Woodstock celebrationdoesn’t end with the Goa musical sojourn. Forall the die-hard music enthusiasts and wide spread Woodstockfans across the country, the release of this Woodstock-inspired movie in India bringswith it a golden opportunity.
