Bluegreen Corporation’s WIN Chapter Sponsors “Gender in the Workplace” Program

Bluegreen Corporation today announced its sponsorship of “The Power Dead-Even Rule and Other Gender Differences in the Workplace” program hosted by Bluegreen’s own WIN (Women in the Industry) Chapter and Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Jul 23, 2010 – Boca Raton, Fla., – July 23, 2010 – Bluegreen Corporation (NYSE: BXG), a leading provider of Colorful Places to Live and Play, today announced its completion and sponsorship of The Power Dead-Even Rule and Other Gender Differences in the Workplace program hosted by Bluegreen’s own WIN (Women in the Industry) Chapter and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Bluegreen associates, both men and women, participated in the program, which included members of WIN, a national organization composed of women from across the timeshare and vacation club industry.

The learning objectives of this particular WIN session: Gender Difference in the Workplace, were presented by Pat Heim, Ph.D., CEO of The Heim Group, a consulting firm which provides management and organizational development services. Each principal discussed can be utilized, not only in the Bluegreen corporate office in Boca Raton, but at Bluegreen’s timeshare resorts and vacation destinations across the country. Participants examined gender differences in workplace communication, behavior and processes with an overall focus on advancing the success of the company on a departmental basis. Associates were encouraged to value, talk and laugh about these differences in order to foster stronger personal and working relationships.

On the fourth Wednesday of every month, members of Women in the Industry meet all over the country to network and discuss their professional growth in the vacation and timeshare industry. WIN is a non-profit organization supporting women in their effort to be the best they can be as well as attracting and cultivating women leaders of tomorrow in the vacation industry.

Members come from all levels of the industry and include people who are interested in sharing their success stories and wisdom while networking and contributing to the community through philanthropic activities. Many Bluegreen associates are currently involved with WIN and have worked hard to bring the educational benefits of the organization back to everyone at the headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.
