30 Budding Entrepreneurs shortlisted in Chandigarh IT- TiE Business Plan Competition

The entries of 30 budding entrepreneurs were shortlisted at a Meeting held recently of the Evaluation Committee of the Chandigarh IT –TiE Business Plan Competition – EnterPrize. The Competition has proved to be a major success with 87 entrepreneurs vying for the 3 assured incubation spaces at the upcoming Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Chandigarh IT Park.

The Evaluation Committee was chaired by Mr. Manjit Brar, Director IT, Chandigarh and comprised of Mr. Vivek Atray, former Drector, IT Chandigarh, Mr. Ajay Shrivastava, Joint Director and Centre Head, STPI; Mr. Partap Aggarwal, IDS Infotech, Mr. Sameer Goel, Infosys and Mr. Puneet Vatsayan, Mobera Systems. Observers to the Committee were Mr. Mohit Chitkara, Chitkara University, Mr. Jyoti Kamal, CNBC TV18 and Mr. Harshvir Singh, Drish InfoTech. The Committee evaluated the entries on the basis of Value Proposition, Economics of Business, Competitive Analysis, Risk Analysis, Sales Strategy, Team and Financials.

Expressing his satisfaction at the response to the Competition, Mr. Manjit Brar stated, “What is very important and gratifying for us is that not only did we get a large number of entries but the projects submitted were also of excellent quality. The objective of the Chandigarh Administration to identify deserving candidates for the Entrepreneurship Development Centre has been met by the Competition.”

“We are indeed very happy to see the way the spirit of entrepreneurship is flourishing in the city and the region,” stated Mr. Puneet Vatsayan, President, TiE, Chandigarh & Punjab. “The Competition is certainly helping to identify and encourage the creation of export focused, IT and Technology focused enterprises.’

The 30 entrepreneurs shortlisted will now give an Elevator Pitch to the jury on Saturday, August 8. After that, at least 12 Plans will be move into the Finals. There will also be a Group Mentoring Session on 18 August for ALL those who have entered, which would be an opportunity to interact with a panel of senior mentors led by Mr Krishna Kumar, Editor in Chief of DARE Magazine. This would be an excellent opportunity for them to think through and refine their business plans for the future, and seek information and guidance from the panel. The finalists would be assigned mentors for the one on one mentoring prior to the finals.

The shortlisted entrepreneurs include Aditi Syal, Amit Arora, Ankur Tripathi, Ashish Bansal, Avi Sidhu, Deepak Syal, Gautam Malhotra, Harpreet Singh, JPS Nagra, Kanwar Inder Singh Rai, Karan Checker, Mahesh Kumar Yadav, Manish Kumar, Manu Bhandari, Manu Bhardwaj, Munish Jindal, Naresh Bharadwaj, Nishant Chandra, Pulkit Jain, Puravansh Maitreya, Rahul Gupta, Rishabh Khurana, Rishi Raj Vashist, Ritesh Ahuja, Sahil Sakhuja, Shivam Goswami, Tarun Kumar, Vinay Johar, Vinish Garg and Yuga Pokale
