Nihar Mukherjee, co founder of SUCI bids adieu

Nihar Mukherjee is the General Secretary of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist),  died of cardiac arrest on 18 February 2010 at Kolkatta.

 

He is a founder member of the party and became the General Secretary after the death of Shibdas Ghosh in 1976. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Proletarian Era, the official newspaper of the organization.

He was sick and hospitalized for a long time. He has been suffering from sepsis and multiple organ dysfunction syndromes due to multidrug resistant organism (acinetobacter baumannii).
