UW Karate Club Members Receive Promotions and Awards

After four months of training and an evening of testing by Sensei Leonard Martin, members of the University of Wyoming Shorin-Ryu Karate and Kobudo Club received belt promotion awards for excellence.

Mudansha or colored belt promotions were awarded to:

Florence Teule, RSO Faculty Advisor and research scientist was promoted to 2nd Kyu; brown
Deanna Hurless, Loan Officer at UniWyo F.C.U. was promoted to 4th Kyu; green
Edward Yaracz, UW sophomore studying mathematics and engineering was promoted to 6th Kyu; blue

Dec 12th, 2009 — UW Seiyo Kai will host a Mudansah clinic at the Education building Gym from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The instructor will be Hanshi Andy Finley, 7th Dan from Casper and the focus of the clinic will be self defense techniques (bunkai) hidden int the Naihanshi Shodan Kata. This clinic is open to all Seiyo Kai International students from Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
