Alumnus of BITS Pilani Punita Pandey CEO netCustomer Inc USA shares her Passion for Alma mater

Punita Pandey is the Founder and Chairman – CEO of the decade old netCustomer, Inc. headquartered in San Jose, California, USA with a client list which includes Oracle, PeopleSoft, Juniper, Dell, IBM, Qualcomm, Sony, Acer and many more. Prior to founding netCustomer, Punita had worked with Healtheon / WebMD, Deloitte Consulting, Tandem Computers, McDonnell Douglas, and Tata Consultancy Services. Punita holds an MBA from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.

With her extended experience in the high-tech services industry, global consulting, and enterprise software, Punita saw a great opportunity in combining the ubiquitous reach of the Internet with around-the-clock operations to improve quality and efficiency of customer service operations and in the year 1999 founded netCustomer on that principle.

Under Punita’s leadership, netCustomer has worked with several global companies in streamlining service operations and improving customer satisfaction. Punita evangelized the concept of high-quality and low-cost customer service by integrating the best of technologies, people, and processes.

Her initial years at netCustomer were captured by Stanford University in a case study. The netCustomer case was taught at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and at several other leading universities around the world.

Punita has been featured in leading media and publications such as Business Week, Christian Science Monitor, C|NET, BBC World, TechTV, NASDAQ Report, San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Chronicle, The Economic Times, The Times of India and India Abroad. Punita is an avid industry spokesperson.

Punita has been a guest speaker at the Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, San Jose State University, and other leading universities and industry conferences.

Proud to be BITSian Punita was a student of Birla Institute of Technology and Science – BITS Pilani during 1980 -1984 and obtained her B.E. (Hons) Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree. She takes pride in acknowledging the fact that a successful entrepreneur needs to acquire Information Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Decision Making Skills, Communication Skills apart from Ability for Time, Stress as well as Project Management and that the BITS Pilani System of education gave her ample avenues for acquiring the same. She is a very active alumni member and this year she is all set join the Silver Jubilee Reunion of her batch to be held later in the year by BITS Alumni Association – BITSAA at Pilani.
