Sony packs speed in its latest DVD Writer

Sony has launched the first ever fastest DVD writer which can record at a speed of 24X and comes wrapped in an eco friendly retail packaging.

With the increase in speed, time spent burning discs is significantly reduced, enabling you to finish your tasks at hand faster. The new DVD Multi Writer DRU-870S will amaze you with its features as it manages your DVD-Rs and DVD+Rs at 24X. For users this new, speedy feature will open up new dimensions as it reads and writes to other formats at a high-performance level.

The special retail packaging is made from recycled paper which is in accordance with one of Sony’s key corporate social responsibility goals, which is to create a sustainable society and environment

The DRU-870S ZR drive can record and read all DVD & CD formats for Windows Vista/ XP/ 2000 on just one drive at an accelerated speed of 24X.

Sony DRU-870S ZR ensures quality and reliability for long term use by implementing Dust-Proof mechanism. Findings suggest that more than 90 % Optical Drive failure were caused by dust inside the optical drive. Sony has implemented 6 Sponges inside of bottom cover, bezel and PWD to reduce the failure rate caused by dust thereby increasing the life span of the product by 50%.

The drive features a SATA interface for easy installation into desktop PC cases and comes loaded with award winning Nero 9 Express Essentials DVD/CD mastering software.
